• We're glad you want to know more about The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Learn about our mission, beliefs, ministries, history and structure. Our Mission: In grateful response to God’s grace and empowered by the Holy Spirit through Word and Sacraments, the mission of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is vigorously to make known the love of Christ by word and deed within our churches, communities and the world. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is a mission-oriented, Bible-based, confessional Christian denomination headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., founded on the teachings of Martin Luther.

  • Overview: With the universal Christian Church, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God. Being "Lutheran," our congregations accept and teach Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

  • The mission of Family Time Training is to train families to teach children Christian principles and values in the home. "Family Time" is a term used to describe fun, intentional, spiritual lessons in the home. For some, the term "Family Time" may conjure up visions of adults and children playing a board game or watching a movie together. But here, Family Time represented so much more. In addition to spending fun time together, Family Time lessons are used to teach specific Christian values, character qualities and spiritual beliefs.

  • Our Mission: Bringing Christ to the Nations—and the Nations to the Church Christ to the Nations — Lutheran Hour Ministries develops culturally relevant programs and projects that proclaim the Gospel to the unchurched, encouraging those people who are reached through these ministry efforts to respond by contacting staff or volunteers. Nations to the Church — Lutheran Hour Ministries then cultivates relationships with those who respond to ultimately facilitate a relationship between them and a congregation, thus helping grow the kingdom of God.

  • Lutherans For Life (LFL) is so much more than an organization that produces facts and figures and keeps people informed on the latest life related news and political maneuverings. LFL is about speaking the truth of life—about Bringing Good News to Life. LFL applies the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the life issues, making Jesus known as the Son of God and Savior of all who can help and make a difference in people’s lives. The focus of Lutherans For Life is two-fold. First, we desire to say very clearly that death is not an acceptable, God-pleasing way to deal with the problems of life. Second, we desire to say very clearly that there is a better way. We ground both of these in the truth of God’s holy Word. His Word defines what is not acceptable. His Word points to a better way, He who is The Way, Jesus Christ.
