a confession of faith

Holy communion

Christ Our King celebrates the Lord’s Supper in the glad confidence that Jesus gives us not only bread and wine, but also His very body and blood to eat and to drink in this Sacrament for the forgiveness of our sins, as well as to strengthen our union with Him and one another. Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His words, repent of their sins, and forgive and love others as He has first forgiven and loved us.

To Our Guests: We are very glad you have joined us! Out of reverence for the Lord’s special gift in this meal, out of love for you—our fellow brother or sister in Christ, and to avoid any potential harm that may be caused by communing when we are not yet fully united in what we believe (1 Cor. 11:27-30), we ask that if you are not yet instructed in what we believe in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), or hold a different belief, that you wait to commune for the first time until you have had an opportunity to speak with a pastor. If you are interested in joining our Foundations (New Members) class, please let us know—we would delight in having you participate and join us at the Lord’s Table soon!

We invite any person, member or guest, who may not be communing today to come forward to the altar to receive a blessing. You may indicate this by crossing your arms over your chest. Gluten-free bread is available. Non-alcoholic juice is available at the center of each wine tray. Please ask an usher, elder, or pastor for any assistance you may need.
