The Season of Lent does not begin until the second half of February—Ash Wednesday is February 18^th—but it will be here before we know it! This year, we are planning to have a special experience for our Wednesday nights. Our Lenten services will be held as usual at Christ Our King, but we will have some of our area Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod pastors join us as our preachers. We are joining with St. Paul in Ann Arbor, St. Luke in Ann Arbor, and Emmanuel in Britton for a series called “The Water of Life.” Each pastor rotates to a different church each week, allowing each congregation to hear from all of them.

Our Lenten series is called “The Water of Life” and will focus on significant moments in the Old Testament that relate to water: the Creation, the Flood, Crossing the Red Sea, Water from the Rock, and Jonah. In each of these accounts, water has a unique place that demonstrates something about God and His salvation-securing actions on His people’s behalf. In addition, all these moments find their ultimate fulfillment in the salvation won by God’s own Son, Jesus Christ. We will explore how Jesus brings His people over, into, and through the Water of Life.

Join us as we meet local LCMS pastors and allow them to meet us, as well. Most especially, these will be opportunities for us to “meet together” and “encourage one another” (Heb. 10:25) as we grow in faith and fellowship during Lent. Invite a friend or family member!
